Pleasing God has always been important to me. At the age of 8, I became a Christian. I was raised Baptist most of my life. At the age of 23 my husband Keith received Christ into his heart and I rededicated my life to God.
We were both hungering for more spiritually at that time and visited Christian Chapel with family and felt welcomed and loved from the beginning. My husband and I helped with Royal Rangers and Missionettes for a year. Then in 2003, I was asked to help teach children on Sundays evenings. I became closer to God wile teaching. I desired to learn more about God. I then felt the guidance of the Holy Spirit that I was being led to work with children.
Brother Barrett prayed for me one Sunday morning after I knew I was being called to teach. He told me that he felt that it was much bigger than just teaching. In the summer of 2004, I was asked to take Children's Church and be the Children's director along with my husband, Keith. I have enjoyed ministering to all the children. It is such a blessing to see children grow and become closer to God. It is my belief that children should have an enjoyable time while learning about God. My husband and I try to have activities planned regularly. The support from the church members of Christian Chapel is wonderful.
My goal as the Children's director is to reach out to all children at church and in the community. My desire is to teach them how to be witnesses for Christ by memorizing and knowing scripture, to have faith, to be confident Christians, how to forgive others, and ready to be equipped with God's word to handle anything that my come their way.
